September 1, Cotabato Province Marks Founding Anniversary with Special Working Holiday.

Pursuant to Republic Act 10777, September 1 of every year is declared as a special working holiday and a no-class day in all schools across the Province of Cotabato to commemorate its founding anniversary.

The law also provides that if the holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the special working day will be observed on the Monday that follows. However, this year, the holiday coincides with a Monday, September 1, giving Cotabateños a day to celebrate their province’s rich history and achievements without the need for schedule adjustments.

Local officials have lined up various activities to honor Cotabato’s founding anniversary, highlighting the province’s cultural heritage, economic growth, and unity among its people.

Moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in (M'Lang, Pikit, Midsayap, Aleosan, Kabacan, Antipas, Libungan, Matalam, Pigkawayan, PresidentRoxas, Carmen, Banisilan, Alamada), , , , (Kalamansig, Isulan, Lebak, CityOfTacurong, Esperanza, PresidentQuirino, Lambayong), , (Nunungan, Sapad, Salvador and SultanNagaDimaporo) which may persist within 1-2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides.
