The intersection of consumer demand and available supply dictates price.
When demand goes up or supply goes down, price increases while the opposite also holds true. There are also multiple contributors to the cost of producing gasoline, which affects it price. When gasoline prices increase, a larger share of households budget is likely to be spend on it.
The Philippine is currently experiencing record high gas prices. When supply is greater than demand, prices fall. Conversely, When demand is greater than supply prices rice.
