Carlos P. Garcia Senior High School (CPGSHS) has officially implemented a blended learning modality until further notice following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Mindanao last June 8.
The move comes in compliance with the City Governmentโs mandate that only schools that are officially included in the Office of the City Building Officialโs (OCBO) final list may continue their face-to-face classes.
Although structural assessments may have been conducted in some schools, the OCBO still holds the final declaration with regards to the safety of school buildings after conducting thorough inspections and evaluations.
As of writing, CPGSHS still has not received an official clearance to resume face-to-face classes. In response to this, school administrators have implemented blended learning modality to ensure educational continuity while prioritizing the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel.
School officials advise parents and students to wait for an official announcement regarding the resumption of in-person classes.

Grade 11 and Grade 12 students of Carlos P. Garcia Senior High School (CPGSHS) were recognized during their Recognition Ceremony held on March 27 at the Barangay 22โC Covered Court.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone for the students, highlighting their academic and extra-curricular achievements and personal growth throughout the school year.
โProud parents and students will receive the fruit of their labor,โ Mr. Joberth Sabanal, school principal, emphasized, recognizing the role of families in the studentsโ success.
He encouraged students to strive for academic excellence and aim for higher honors to qualify for such opportunities.
Moreover, he underscored essential values that students should develop, including determination, perseverance, and discipline. He reminded learners that their future โultimately depends on their own efforts,โ with parents serving as their support system.
The awarding of medals and merits followed, recognizing outstanding students from the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM), Arts and Design, Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), and Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) strands for their academic and extra-curricular achievements.
โSuccess is truly tested in how you help others toward a progressive goal,โ Mr. Bernard Cempron, assistant to the school principal said, urging students to apply the skills and experiences they gained in senior high school to their future careers.
The ceremony ended with students carrying both recognition and responsibility as they move forward in their academic and career paths.
