ππππ | CCI Welcomes Two New Passers in May 2026 CPALE
Columban College, Inc. (CCI) stamped a significant achievement after two of its alumni passed the May 2026 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE), the results of which were released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on June 2.
The two successful examinees, Christian Noe C. Eclarino and Kiel Christopher R. Varela, were among the 3,004 passers out of 9,745 examinees nationwide, resulting in a national passing rate of 30.83%.
One of the soon-to-be-licensed CPAs, Kiel Christopher Varela, reflected on his journey after learning that he had passed the board examination.
βHindi ako nagulat since pumunta talaga ako ng testing center nang prepared at tiwala ako after exam na napasa ko. Naandun βyung takot, pero mas nangibabaw 'yung tiwala,β Varela said.
He also expressed how being a former student-athlete in CCI helped him prepare for the examination.
βBeing a student-athlete in CCI, nakatulong siya sa akin na ma-build βyung character and work ethics sa sports and in life, which is na-apply ko sa pag-aaral dahil naka-build ako ng magandang study habit during undergrad, na nadala ko hanggang sa pag-review,β Varela added.
The CPALE passer also expressed his gratitude to his family, friends, and his Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (JPIA) family for their significant support throughout his entire review process.
Meanwhile, James Al Alcayde Serondo from the University of the Philippines-Diliman acquired the top spot of 91.17%, with the university being the top school earning a passing rate of 98.15%.
The success of the two passers from CCI highlighted the dedication of the graduates and served as an inspiration to current Accountancy students aspiring to earn the same professional title.

ππππ | CHEDRO3 Conducts On-Site Quality Check as CCI Aims to Reclaim Regional Dominance
In a bid to restore its status as the premier educational institution in Olongapo and Zambales, Columban College Inc. (CCI) opened its doors to the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO3) on Thursday, May 14, 2026, for a rigorous, comprehensive on-site evaluation and monitoring visit.
The high-stakes audit serves as a critical benchmark for CCI as the institution undergoes a strategic push to elevate its academic standing and ensure regional competitiveness.
The evaluation kicked off with a powerful address from CCIβs Incoming School President, Rev. Fr. Eric Dela Cruz.
Rather than treating the visit as a mere formality, Rev. Fr. Dela Cruz issued a direct challenge to the faculty and administration to actively restore the college's historic academic dominance.
βWe do this in service to our nation, that we are here to produce and create graduates that would be productive members of society,β Rev. Fr. Dela Cruz emphasized, underscoring the urgency of the institution's mission.
Following the opening remarks, the key officials driving the evaluation were formally introduced by Dr. David C. Bueno, Vice President of Academic Affairs and Student Services (VPAASS) to the CHEDRO3 delegation headed by Chief Education Program Specialist (CEPS) Dr. Bernard S. Pantonilla.
The team conducted an exhaustive, bi-campus inspection, convening in the Jubilee Conference Room to meticulously audit the official documentation, faculty credentials, and academic performance metrics of CCI's six core colleges and student services units.
The review aimed to ensure that every department strictly aligns with national standards of quality and inclusive education.
