Tonkatsuki

Name

Tonkatsuki was a combination of Tonkatsu which was a Japanese dish of pork coated in breadcrumbs then fried and the Naruto inspired ninja group which was Akatsuki. Tonkatsuki it is.

Origins

The band members were composed of Paul Yapo the guitarist of Two Days After/Hokune. Duke Martin former lead vocalist of Hokune/Fenrir/Two Days After. Christian Lanuza which was a lead guitar/back vocals for On the Feet of Atlas/Asylum Miseria/I Who Outlived/Heart Scenery/Witness Me Fall. Abbie Baclao Drummer for Hokune/Intercereal/Tramo/Dirtyknobs. Elmer De Guzman bassist for D’Marcus.

Music

Tonkatsuki was a fusion of Heavy Metal, Post hardcore, Alternative and Punk Rock. Looking up to bands like Su***de Silence, Memphis May Fire, Deftones, Issues, August Burns Red, Slipknot and local acts like Kamikazee, Quezo, Greyhoundz and Moira Dela Torre to name a few.

New school riffs meets old school technicalities. It is a mash up of new school and old school. With songs filled with lust and good vibes. Writing/Composing songs that are short and sweet, witty and fun be careful for you’ll be hooked as early as the first tune plays. The band keeps a low profile yet true to themselves stand point where in performance is undeniably equal to the music. A perfect balance of heart felt, no holds barred lines, riffs that would melt a stone cold heart, low, crisp bass lines that would hold them together and drum beats that would make you dance and bang your head at the same time.

This band is as striking as your first feel and taste of flesh. Aims a performance more memorable than your first or**sm. Tonkatsuki will rip your face off but will leave you asking for more at every auspicious performance.
