Ramon Bautista is a Filipino actor, radio DJ, TV show host, commercial model, filmmaker, producer and University of the Philippines, Diliman professor. Dubbed as the “Internet superstar”, his fans follow him on Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook. His formspring.me account had the most “smiles” in the world in 2011.

Bautista is currently one of the co-hosts of GMA News TV 11′s May Tamang Balita. Bautista portrayed various characters in a reality comedy television show called Strangebrew, which was aired by UNTV Channel 37, People’s Television Network, and Studio 23 from 2001 to 2003.

In 2005, Bautista became more popular with his David Blaine spoof where he acted as “Dan Michael Master Magician”. The video garnered about 500,000 views. In 2007, he was one of the disc jockeys in 92.3 UFM’s Brewrats, which was derived from the hit show Strangebrew. Together with other DJs Angel Rivero and Tado Jimenez, the show became a popular hit among the Filipino youth. It was also in 2007 that Bautista appeared in his own show in MTV Pilipinas’, The Ramon Bautista Show, where he interviewed various renowned artists in the Philippine music industry, mostly bands, such as Sandwich, Spongecola, Radioactive Sago Project, Hale, Imago and many more.

He was later seen at a number of YouTube clips. Bautista endorsed big brands like Nescafé, Petron, McDonald’s, Nissan Adventure, and Smart. He also starred in the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and Ako Mismo campaigns. As an academician and comedian, his antics are more of a social commentary on Philippine culture and celebrity stardom than just typical gags. (Source: WikiPilipinas)
