Labor Day in the Philippines, also known as Araw ng mga Manggagawa, is celebrated every May 1. It is a regular non-working holiday meant to recognize the efforts, sacrifices, and contributions of Filipino workers from all fields.

Aside from being a well-earned break and a chance to spend quality time with family, it is also an opportunity to pay tribute to the value of diligence, as workers contribute to nation-building. As the backbone of society, they play a vital role in economic growth and social development.

Labor Day also promotes solidarity and serves as a platform for advocacies such as ending contractualization, raising the minimum wage, and protecting the rights of our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
