In the shift to e-mobility, we must ensure that women are not only passengers, but active drivers and leaders who shape policy, drive technical innovation, and make critical decisions.
Clean Air Asia joined the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in hosting the “Sulong Juana: Women Leadership in Shaping the Future of Industry” at the Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria on April 22, 2026. This summit commemorated the inaugural International Day of Women in Industry (IDWI), to be celebrated every 21st of April, highlighting the critical role women play in the sector’s evolution.
Clean Air Asia is a co-organizer of this event. Through its implementation of the e-mobility ASAP Project, the organization conducted the breakout session, “Drive for Equity: A Solutions Lab on Gender-Responsive E-Mobility,” which focused on developing actionable, gender-responsive strategies for the industry.
A centerpiece of Clean Air Asia’s participation was the Women’s Gallery. This special exhibition honors the pioneers of the Women in E-Mobility Network and celebrates the contributions of women leaders across various projects affiliated with UNIDO.
With the commemoration of Earth Day on April 22 with the theme, "Our Power, Our Planet," IDWI served as an opportunity to support and celebrate the women in industry driving environmental progress forward, and to continue addressing barriers to enable more women to lead the transformation of industries towards a more sustainable future.
