Citronella is a grass that grows wild in the tropical countries. It has a strong, faintly lemony aroma that is stimulating and vitalizing. This essential oil is 100% pure and 100% natural.

SUGGESTED APPLICATIONS

Insect Repellant: Mix about a couple drops of citronella oil with 3 to 4 teaspoons of water in a burner, vaporizer, or diffuser. Oil works well especially if used with open windows. Be careful if used indoors for it can adversely affect rats, felines and caged birds.

Deodorizer: Apply a drop of citronella oil to a cotton ball and place inside shoes, trash cans, etc.

Rheumatic Pain: Add about two drops of citronella oil per teaspoon of carrier oil (such as virgin coconut oil) and massage into aching joints and muscles.

Dog with fleas: Add a couple of drops to your pet’s bandana or to an absorbent collar, such as woven nylon, and place around dog s neck.

CARRIER OILS
Mild/baby oil, basil, mint, olive, bergamot, eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, lime, oregano, rosemary, and orange.

CAUTION
Never apply pure essential citronella oil directly to the skin for it may cause skin irritation. Diluted oil in water may irritate sensitive skin. Try it on a small area first. Some people may have allergic reactions when treated skin is exposed to the sun. Citronella plants may also cause skin irritation when handled. Pregnant women should not use citronella oil; there are some reports that it may harm the unborn child. Some people experience an increased heart rate when using citronella oil and should not use it. Do not take citronella oil internally.
