The FEU Mathematics Society released a statement discussing concerns surrounding the results of the FEU University Elections 2026 and the implementation of election rules by the FEU Commission on Elections (FEU COMELEC).

Based on the organization’s review, nearly half of the 51 candidates who ran in the elections did not reach the required 20% vote threshold when abstention votes were not counted in the total results. Because of this, questions were raised regarding how the rule was applied during the elections.

The organization also urged election officials to provide clearer explanations on the interpretation of the policy to promote transparency and accountability in future electoral processes.

As the 2026 FEU Elections draw closer, take a look at the stances of the following independent candidates for the FEU Biological Science Society on a variety of academic and sociopolitical issues in the country.

The university elections voting period will commence today and will continue until Thursday, May 7, 2026. The proclamation of winners will also be held on May 7, 2026.
