𝐏𝐑𝐎𝟔 𝐀𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐬 𝐈𝐥𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐨’𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝟖 𝐌𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐧

Iloilo – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), through the Balasan Municipal Police Station (MPS), successfully arrested the province’s Top 8 Most Wanted Person during a manhunt operation conducted at around 12:18 PM on September 1, 2025 in Barangay Poblacion Sur, Balasan, Iloilo.

The arrested individual, identified by alias “Buknoy”, 19 years old and a resident of Brgy. Poblacion Norte, Balasan, Iloilo, was served with a warrant of arrest for violation of Republic Act 10883 (New Anti-Carnapping Act of 2016). The warrant was issued on August 26, 2025, by RTC Branch 66, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.

Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) Regional Director PBGEN JOSEFINO D LIGAN, commended the operating unit for their dedication and swift action.

“The arrest of a provincial-level most wanted person reflects our commitment to pursue law offenders and bring them before the court of law. This serves as a warning to those who continue to evade justice — the PNP will not stop until all wanted persons are accounted for,” the PBGEN LIGAN said.

The suspect was informed of his rights and is now under police custody for turnover to the issuing court.

Iloilo City – A high-value individual (HVI) was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), which resulted in the confiscation of around 120 grams of suspected shabu on September 1, 2025, in Brgy. Cuartero, Jaro, Iloilo City.

The suspect, identified by the alias “Peter,” 34, a carpenter and resident of the same barangay, was apprehended at around 8:35 PM.

The successful anti-drug operation was carried out by operatives of ICPO’s City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU), in coordination with ICPS9, PDEG SOU 6, SWAT ICPO, and RIU6.

Confiscated items during the operation were five (5) plastic sachets of suspected shabu, buy-bust money, and several non-drug items.

Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6) Regional Director PBGEN JOSEFINO D LIGAN, lauded the coordinated efforts of ICPO and its partner units.

“This accomplishment is a testament to our unyielding commitment to fight illegal drugs in Western Visayas. We will continue to intensify our operations to protect our communities and ensure a drug-free region,” PBGEN LIGAN said.

The suspect is under police custody for violation of Section 5 (Sale of dangerous drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Both offenses carry the penalty of life imprisonment and a fine ranging from PHP500,000.00 to PHP10 million.
