DOST Camarines Sur Conducts Technology Needs Assessment at TESDA RTC Pili

PILI, Camarines Sur – July 2, 2026 — The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Camarines Sur, through its Provincial Science and Technology Office and Management Information System (MIS) Unit, conducted a Technology Needs Assessment (TNA) Site Visit at TESDA Regional Training Center (RTC) Pili.

The activity was conducted following the coordination between TESDA Region V and DOST Region V to assess the Center's existing facilities, equipment, and information technology infrastructure. It also aimed to identify areas where technology and research support can further improve training delivery and institutional operations.

During the visit, RTC Pili presented its current facilities, available training equipment, laboratory spaces, and network infrastructure. The Center also shared the results of its equipment needs assessment, which identified priority equipment requirements across its training sectors.

The DOST assessment team toured the RTC Pili compound, including its training workshops, Automotive Building, IT facilities, and the proposed site for the Regional TVET Innovation Center (RTIC). The visit provided an opportunity for both agencies to discuss the Center's current needs and possible areas for future collaboration.

The Technology Needs Assessment supports RTC Pili's continuing preparations as the proposed Regional TVET Innovation Center under the Supporting Innovation in the Philippine Technical and Vocational Education and Training System (SIPTVETS) Project. The activity also strengthens the partnership between TESDA and DOST in promoting innovation and improving technical vocational education and training in the Bicol Region.
