I EM Editing

Hi. It’s been a while. Nakalimutan ko ring mag-post during this page’s 6th anniversary dahil sobrang busy talaga ng simula ng taon sa trabaho ko.

Anyway, may 2016 trending ngayon, and although ang advance (dahil sa July 2026 pa) but I want to greet myself for my 10th Anniversary as a book editor! 🥳🥳🥳 For 10 years, nagawa ko ’yong bagay na gusto kong gawin, ang ma-involve at magkaroon ng trabaho sa publishing and writing industry. Ang daming nangyari, ang daming pinagdaanan. May malungkot, may masaya. May mga naging kaibigan at may mga nakaaway. 😆 Pero at least, bago ko seryosohin ang propesyon na pinili ko, na siyang ginagawa ko ngayon, naranasan kong gawin ’yong isa sa mga pangarap ko.

Nakakalungkot na tatapusin ko na ang pagiging book editor. Honestly, it took me a while to post this because I’m still contemplating if I will really end my career as a book editor. Sinubukan ko namang bumalik, pero hindi ko na talaga kaya. Mas ginusto ko nang i-enjoy ’yong meron ako ngayon. Mas ginusto ko nang magpahinga, alagaan ang sarili ko, at gawin ang iba pang bagay na gusto ko. Maybe it is time for me to experience and explore other things because I’ve been in this industry for 10 years naman na. Bukod do’n, unti-unti ko ring nari-realise na . . . maybe, this is really not for me kasi once I became busy, I forgot to be active na rin. ’Di ba nga, kung mahal mo talaga, gagawa at gagawa ka ng paraan. Unfortunately, kahit sa pagbabasa ng fiction books, naging inactive na rin talaga ako. So maybe . . . it is time to let go.

Thank you so much to everyone who trusted me for the past decade that I’ve been a book editor. Hindi ko inakalang maraming magtitiwala sa akin. Thank you to everyone who became my friends and not just my clients. Thank you to everyone who keeps recommending me as an editor. I hope everyone’s dream of becoming a published author will come true someday, and remember that I’m just here, supporting and rooting for you.
