“My rifle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.” — Rifleman’s Creed 🪖

ADMU ROTC held its 9th training day at Bellarmine Field, where cadets took on their midterm assessment by performing one of the most fundamental skills in military training— field stripping.

The training day began with a lecture regarding the various parts of an M16 rifle, followed by a live demonstration from our Military Training Instructors (MTIs) on weapon assembly and disassembly techniques. Afterwards, each flight had the opportunity to familiarize and prepare for their midterm assessment, applying the lessons and practicing the techniques they learned during the demonstrations and lectures.

The training day culminated with the midterm assessment— a race among each of the four flights, where cadets were challenged to complete their assessments with both speed and accuracy. This not only tested each individual’s skills but also their ability to work under pressure with a team. At the end of the assessment, Flight Delta secured first place and earned their team flight cup points.

Field Stripping refers to the action of manually disassembling a fire without any external tools. During encounters, field stripping may be necessary to troubleshoot problems, temporarily repair broken equipment, or clean the fi****ms from any dirt or debris.
