On September 23, 2024, Trinity University of Asia (TUA) will host two significant events: the "Beyond the Limits Adaptive 5x5 Basketball" and "Palarong Pang Pinoy." These events highlight inclusivity and cultural pride, showcasing adaptive sports and traditional Filipino games, respectively.
Beyond the Limits Adaptive 5x5 Basketball is an adaptive sports event designed to include athletes with physical or mobility challenges. It emphasizes inclusivity, ensuring that all participants can enjoy competitive sports regardless of their physical limitations. Adaptive basketball modifies certain rules and equipment to cater to the needs of players, ensuring that the sport is accessible while maintaining the excitement and teamwork of traditional basketball.
Palarong Pang Pinoy, on the other hand, celebrates Filipino heritage through traditional games such as *patintero*, *sipa*, *piko*, and more. This event not only fosters physical activity but also strengthens cultural identity by reviving and promoting games that have been passed down through generations.
Together, these events at TUA will promote both inclusivity and cultural appreciation, offering students and participants a dynamic experience that bridges adaptive sports and traditional Filipino pastimes.

Join us on July 20 at 6pm for the pilot run of "Hoy! The Musical", produced by Project Empower in collaboration with Trick Creatives Production! This event marks the start of our mission to make mental health support accessible to schools and marginalized communities.
In future runs at these institutions and communities, we will have post-show engagements with our professionals and counselors to create a platform where everyone feels seen and heard. You’ll learn whom to approach for help and gain a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDDs), including autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other psychosocial issues.
Our goal at Project Empower is to create sustainable programs for a more inclusive, accessible, and accepting society. Let’s empower our PWD and youth communities together!
