FROM NO MORE CANVA PREMIUM, TO ALL FILES DELETED

JUST IN: On the last day of the term, Friday, May 22, several PNU students found their files deleted from a shared "PNU" team space on Canva, following the platform's removal of premium feature access.

The publication reached out to the Management and Information Systems Office (MIS), which stated that the university has no official account with Canva and is not responsible for the affected accounts.

The disruption stems from a 2023 policy update by Canva, which tightened eligibility requirements and stripped free premium access from higher education institutions using ".edu.ph" domains. Under the current rules, the platform limits free Canva for Education accounts strictly to K-12 teachers, students, and institutions.

MIS Director Prof. Erwin Callo stated that the university will need to allocate a formal budget in the coming fiscal years if it wishes to secure an official, campus-wide Canva subscription.

In the meantime, affected students are advised to coordinate directly with Canva’s support team to appeal for data recovery or account restoration.

Samantala, napasailalim na ang senador sa lookout bulletin order ng Bureau of Immigration, ayon sa anunsyo ng Department of Justice (DOJ) noong Mayo 15.
