𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗘𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗡𝗢𝗪 | The College of Management is currently conducting the training entitled 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗜𝗖 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘂𝗸𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗟𝗼𝗴𝗼 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 under the project 𝙈𝙀𝙏𝙎 𝙇𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 𝙐𝙥 3.2: 𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙒𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝘿𝙤𝙣𝙪𝙩 𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙧𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙎𝙪𝙗𝙨𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙂𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜.

The activity aims to enhance the capacity of the Rural Improvement Club (RIC) members of Barangay Bulusukan in developing a strong product identity and effectively promoting their donut products through logo creation and social media management. Specifically, the training seeks to improve their ability to present, market, and differentiate their products while strengthening group identity and confidence toward enterprise development.

The program begins with the arrival and registration of participants facilitated by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗦. 𝗠𝗰𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘁,together with a photo opportunity at the BASC Grounds, courtesy call, Palayamanan site visit, and Food Innovation Center site visit coordinated by the concerned offices and units of the institution.

The opening program includes the opening prayer and national anthem led by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗣. 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻, followed by the welcome remarks delivered by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗜𝗺𝗲𝗲 𝗗. 𝗘𝘀𝗴𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮, Director of the Extension Services Office. The introduction of the training objectives is presented by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗕. 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗮, Project Leader, while the introduction of the resource speaker is conducted by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝗻 𝗩. 𝗝𝗮𝗼.

A pre-test is being administered by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹 𝗔. 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗻, Project Member, prior to the start of the learning sessions. Participants are also attending a VMGO session facilitated by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗧. 𝗔𝗹𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗼.

The afternoon session features discussions on Social Media Marketing and Logo Making facilitated by resource speaker 𝗗𝗿. 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗝𝗼𝗲 𝗩. 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗮, followed by a session on Basic Intellectual Property: Concepts and Processes conducted by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗖. 𝗪𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻-𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗮.

The activity also includes the administration of the post-test and awarding of certificates facilitated by Ms. Anabel A. Alayon, while the training evaluation is being handled by the Project Management Team. The program concludes with the closing remarks delivered by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗼 𝗚. 𝗕𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮.

Serving as Masters of Ceremony for the activity are 𝗠𝘀. 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗵 𝗩. 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼𝗻 and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗝𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗗. 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗮𝗻.

Through this training, the College of Management continues to promote women empowerment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable community development through extension and capability-building programs.

𝗠𝗔𝗬 𝟬𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | Farmers from various municipalities in Bulacan gathered at the Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) Rene Cayetano Hall for the 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝘁𝗶𝗸𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, conducted under the externally funded project “𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝘿𝙪𝙘𝙠 𝙀𝙜𝙜 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝘽𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙄𝙩𝙞𝙠𝙋𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙨 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙐𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣”, funded by the DBM–CLAARRDEC.

The activity brought together participants from Pandi, Baliwag City, San Rafael, San Miguel, and San Ildefonso, Bulacan to strengthen their knowledge and technical skills in sustainable duck production using ItikPinas technology. The training aimed to support farming communities by promoting improved production practices, enhancing livelihood opportunities, and increasing awareness of duck farming as a viable enterprise.

The program formally opened with welcome remarks from 𝗗𝗿. 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗝. 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘀, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Product Development (REPD), followed by a message from 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗘. 𝗕𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮, Director of the University Extension Program Office of Central Luzon State University (CLSU). An overview of the training, including its objectives and expected outputs, was presented by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗦. 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮, Project Leader.

Serving as resource speaker, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘆𝗼, Assistant Professor III, facilitated the technical sessions focusing on the Philippine situation of the mallard duck industry and the characteristics and benefits of raising ItikPinas. Discussions also covered housing systems, care and management of ducklings, growers, and layers, feeding management, health and nutrition, biosecurity measures, egg collection, and basic recordkeeping.

Representatives from CLAARRDEC, namely 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗘. 𝗕𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗖. 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗮, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼, and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗜𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗲, also participated in the activity and assisted in addressing participants’ questions and concerns during the open forum.

Beyond lectures, the activity provided a venue for participants to exchange experiences and practical insights on duck production, reinforcing collaborative learning among farming communities in the province. The training concluded with an open forum, post-test evaluation, awarding, photo opportunity, and closing remarks delivered by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗜𝗺𝗲𝗲 𝗗. 𝗘𝘀𝗴𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮, BASC Extension Services Director.

Through the promotion and utilization of ItikPinas technology, the project supports sustainable agricultural practices and contributes to broader development goals aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. By equipping farmers with science-based production and management practices, the initiative aims to strengthen local duck egg production while improving livelihood opportunities among small-scale farming communities in Bulacan.

𝗔𝗣𝗥𝗜𝗟 𝟯𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | Fresh from showcasing their harvests in recent field activities, women farmer-beneficiaries from Pulilan, Bocaue, and Baliwag City, Bulacan took another step forward, this time, transforming their produce into value-added food products.

At the Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) Farmers Training Center (FTC), members of 𝑱𝒖𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒌𝒂𝒃𝒖𝒉𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏 𝒏𝒈 𝑩𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒆, 𝑳𝒂𝒌𝒂𝒔 𝒏𝒈 𝑲𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒊𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝑪𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒚, and 𝑺𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒈𝒂 𝑲𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒊𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒕𝒖𝒏𝒈𝒐 𝒔𝒂 𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒈𝒖𝒈𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒕 𝑷𝒂𝒈𝒉𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒚𝒖𝒑𝒂𝒏, beneficiaries of the DOST–PCAARRD-funded project “𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻-𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸𝘆𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺 (𝗦𝗧𝗖𝗕𝗙) 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆”, participated in a hands-on 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 aimed at expanding livelihood opportunities beyond primary production.

The training integrated theoretical and practical components, as participants prepared various food products such as chicken tocino, chicken longganisa, chicken tapa, banana chips, pickled amplaya, and instant ginger tea. Guided by BASC faculty members, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹 𝗖. 𝗙𝗮𝗷𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗚. 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗿𝗮, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗝𝗼𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗩. 𝗦𝘁𝗮. 𝗖𝗿𝘂𝘇, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗝𝗼𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗚. 𝗗𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗼𝗻 and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗟𝗲𝗮 𝗦. 𝗔𝗴𝗯𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗶, participants gained knowledge in proper food handling and preservation techniques, as well as essential skills in product costing and pricing, key steps in converting farm produce into marketable goods.

The activity fostered a collaborative learning environment, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and practical experiences while strengthening participants’ technical competencies.

By equipping women farmers with value-adding skills, BASC continues to strengthen its commitment to empowering communities, not only to grow food, but to create opportunities from it. These efforts contribute to broader development outcomes aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 5: Gender Equality, and SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, as women farmers transition from subsistence production to market-oriented enterprises.

Sariwang Gulay para sa Bayan: Juanang Pangkabuhayan, Naglunsad ng Community Pantry sa Sityo Tugatog

BOCAUE, BULACAN – Isang makabuluhang hakbang para sa kalusugan at pagkakaisa ang nasaksihan sa Sityo Tugatog, Brgy. Tambubong ngayong araw, Abril 10, 2026, matapos ilunsad ng samahang Juanang Pangkabuhayan ng Bocaue ang isang Community Pantry.

Layunin ng aktibidad na ito na makapagbahagi ng libre, ligtas, at masustansyang pagkain sa komunidad bilang tugon sa epekto ng giyera sa pagitan ng Israel, Amerika at Iran sa Gitnang Silangan na nagdulot ng patuloy na pagtaas ng presyo ng langis na nagiging dahilan din ng pagtaas ng presyo ng iba pang mga bilihin. Ang mga gulay, itlog at prutas na ipinamahagi ay mismong ani ng mga kasapi ng samahan mula sa kanilang pinagpagurang mga pananim sa kani-kanilang mga bakuran.

Ang Juanang Pangkabuhayan ng Bocaue ay isang samahan ng kababaihan na pangunahing benepisyaryo ng proyektong "Expanding Women-led Integrated Backyard Farming in Bulacan through the Science and Technology Community Based-Farm (STCBF) Modality." Ang inisyatibong ito ay proyekto ng Bulacan Agricultural State College sa pakikipagtulungan ng Pamahalaang Bayan ng Bocaue, Bulacan at pinondohan ng DOST-PCAARRD, na naglalayong palakasin ang kapasidad ng mga kababaihan sa pagsasaka gamit ang makabago at ligtas na pamamaraan.

Layunin ng grupo ng mga kababaihan sa Bocaue na kung paano sila nabibigyan ng mga pagpapala mula sa proyektong ito ay makapagbahagi rin nila sa iba pang taong higit na nangangailangan lalo na sa panahon ngayon.

Sa ilalim ng pamumuno ng kanilang pangulo na si Gng. Susana Prociuncula, napatunayan ng samahan na ang sipag ng mga "Juana" ay may malaking kontribusyon sa seguridad sa pagkain ng kanilang komunidad. Hindi lamang ang mga residente ng Brgy. Tambubong ang nakinabang sa biyaya ng community pantry. Umabot sa mahigit limampung (50) na pamilya ang matagumpay na nabahagian ng mga sariwang gulay, kabilang ang mga naninirahan mula sa mga karatig-barangay ng Taal at Batia.

𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 | As part of Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) internally funded extension project 𝐀𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭 𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 – 𝐁𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐲 𝐚𝐭 𝐘𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐢 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬, 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐬, 𝐁𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐚𝐧, a one-day 𝐂𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 was successfully conducted today, April 7, 2026, bringing together participants for a comprehensive and engaging learning experience.

The program opened with registration facilitated by the Training Management Team (TMT), followed by the opening prayer and national anthem. Welcome remarks and the discussion of training objectives, along with the presentation of participants were led by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐨 𝐄. 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨. A pre-test was also administered by the TMT to assess participants’ baseline knowledge.

The morning sessions featured an introduction to “What is Cybercrime and Cybersecurity” by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐨 𝐄. 𝐒𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨, followed by an interactive workshop and open forum facilitated by the TMT. Discussions on Common Threat Vectors were led by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚, while the Data Privacy Act of 2012 was discussed by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐨 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞, with another workshop and open forum session facilitated by the TMT.

In the afternoon, sectoral discussions included Agriculture by 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐅. 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧, and Environment by 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐑𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐲 𝐂. 𝐖𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐧. The session on Best Practices for Individuals was handled by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐳 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐚𝐥, followed by another workshop and open forum facilitated by the TMT.

The training concluded with a post-test, awarding of certificates of appreciation and participation facilitated by the TMT. The program was smoothly guided by the Master of Ceremony, 𝐌𝐫. 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐳 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐚𝐥.

Through this initiative, participants gained valuable insights and practical skills to better protect themselves and their communities in the digital space—fostering a more informed, secure, and resilient society.
