SNES Gears Up for LiNK Pilot Test, Trains Teachers Ahead of Rollout
San Nicolas Elementary School (SNES) is set to take a significant step in strengthening foundational learning as it prepares for the pilot implementation of the Literacy and Numeracy Knowledge (LiNK) Assessment.
In response to Division Memorandum No. 421, s. 2026, the school recently conducted a focused orientation for teachers to ensure the smooth and standardized administration of the test. The session highlighted key procedures, testing protocols, and the proper handling of assessment materials, reinforcing the importance of accuracy and consistency in gathering learner data.
As one of the selected pilot schools in the Schools Division of Ilocos Norte, SNES will administer the LiNK Test to learners in Grades 1 to 6. The assessment is scheduled to take place on Monday and Tuesday, June 15โ16, 2026, marking a crucial milestone in the schoolโs participation in this division-wide initiative.
School Principal Dr. Orlando A. Pascua underscored the value of the preparation, noting that equipping teachers is essential to the success of the program. He emphasized that the results of the assessment will serve as a guide in crafting responsive teaching strategies and targeted interventions to improve learnersโ literacy and numeracy skills.
Despite initial delays in the release of test materials, SNES has demonstrated readiness and adaptability, ensuring that all necessary preparations are in place ahead of the revised schedule.
With its teachers fully oriented and aligned, SNES stands ready to carry out the LiNK Assessmentโanchored on its commitment to delivering quality, data-driven education for every learner.

Excitement and curiosity filled the EMBA Building Board Room as teachers of San Nicolas Elementary School (SNES) gathered for a hands-on exploration of the school's newly installed Interactive Smart Board.
The session marked an important step in the school's continuing efforts to integrate technology into classroom instruction and equip teachers with innovative tools that can enrich the learning experience of every pupil.
Throughout the activity, teachers actively explored the Smart Board's features, discovering how it can transform traditional lessons into dynamic and interactive learning experiences. From creating engaging presentations and annotating instructional materials to integrating multimedia resources and facilitating collaborative classroom activities, participants gained valuable insights into maximizing the board's potential as a teaching tool.
More than simply learning how to operate a new piece of technology, the teachers were given an opportunity to envision new possibilities for instructionโwhere lessons become more interactive, concepts become easier to visualize, and learners become more actively involved in the learning process.
The training also reflects SNES' commitment to empowering educators through continuous professional growth. As education continues to evolve in the digital age, the school recognizes that effective technology integration begins with confident and capable teachers.
This initial batch of participants serves as the first group of educators to undergo the learning session. In the coming weeks, teachers from other grade levels and learning areas will also be given the opportunity to explore and master the Interactive Smart Board, ensuring that more classrooms can benefit from technology-enhanced instruction.
As SNES continues to embrace innovation, initiatives such as these demonstrate the school's dedication to preparing both teachers and learners for the demands of a rapidly changing educational landscape.

From the moment they arrived, learners were greeted by the lively performance of the SNES Tamboleros Funfare & Barrage, whose rhythmic beats created a festive welcome for students, parents, guardians, and teachers. Smiles, cheerful conversations, and eager faces reflected the excitement of a community ready to embark on another year of growth and discovery.
The day's activities began with a Flag Raising Ceremony, bringing together learners, school personnel, parents, and guests in a meaningful start to the academic year. During the program, learners were introduced to Project Intayon, Aggaraw, a localized dance routine exercise that supports the Schools Division Office of Ilocos Norte's commitment to promoting learner health and wellness through culturally responsive and contextualized education. More than just a physical activity, the project encourages learners to embrace healthy habits while fostering appreciation for local culture.
Following the ceremony, learners eagerly made their way to their classrooms, where a series of Opening Block Activities awaited them. Teachers transformed classrooms into welcoming spaces through engaging getting-to-know-you activities, fun energizers, and meaningful conversations that helped learners feel comfortable and connected.
Recognizing that learning begins with a healthy mind and heart, teachers also conducted emotional well-being check-ins, giving learners the opportunity to express how they felt on their first day back in school. These simple yet meaningful interactions helped create an environment where every child felt seen, heard, and valued.
The excitement continued through various interactive activities, including coloring sessions, reading exercises, Human Bingo, and Spin the Wheel games. Laughter filled the classrooms as learners discovered common interests, made new friends, and built connections with their classmates. Classroom orientations and discussions on rules and expectations further helped establish a positive learning environment for the months ahead.
The school also welcomed visitors from the Schools Division Office of Ilocos Norte, including Mrs. Grace M. Turqueza-Rabang, Accountant III and other division personnel, who joined the school community in observing and supporting the opening of classes.
As the first day came to a close, one thing was evident: San Nicolas Elementary School had not only opened another school yearโit had opened new opportunities for learning, friendship, and personal growth. Throughout the benchmarking activity, the SNES delegation actively engaged in discussions, asked questions, and gathered insights on the management, operation, and sustainability of the ILRC. The visit provided valuable knowledge on how an inclusive learning resource center can effectively support learners with diverse educational needs while fostering collaboration among educators, parents, and the community.
The benchmarking activity aligns with the vision of San Nicolas Elementary School to establish its own Inclusive Learning Resource Center (ILRC). By studying the successful practices of FCIS, SNES aims to create a responsive, organized, and learner-centered facility that will provide appropriate interventions and services for learners with special educational needs and those requiring additional support.
