Bitbit– to carry with arms; to bring

With a desire to promote local ingredients and heirloom recipes, Chef Theodore “Day” Salonga has created Bitbit- a line of homemade products highlighting the flavors and traditions of Laguna. Chef Day is no stranger to the culinary industry, having served as consultant to countless restaurants. He now manages two of his own restaurants in Sta. Cruz, Laguna – Ted’s Kitchen and Aurora Filipino Cuisine. He is also co-owner of Cazuela, a Spanish restaurant in the Ortigas area and Commissary Kitchen, a food service provider.

Chef Day started Bitbit with one simple product, Kesong Puti, arguably Sta. Cruz, Laguna’s most loved export. What started with bottled, flavored Kesong Puti has now evolved into other products made with the same care and attention to detail, all using the very best local ingredients. From vinegars to pickles to cured meats and seasonal delicacies like Ginataang Yapyap (small river shrimp) and Ginataang Santol, Bitbit’s products are all preservative-free. The most recent addition to the Bitbit line is their preservative-free Smoked Longanisa.
