Selah is a Hebrew word from the Bible, interpreted by the family as “rock” or “boulder” - but could also be translated as “to praise,” “to pause,” or to “lift up.”

The owners simply wanted a rest house for their family. The Selah Project will serve as their rock: a place to stay and come home to whenever they want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city life.

A huge lot surrounded by trees and rice paddies. Plain stucco walls, stone cladding, and wood finishes compose the house’s architectural character to blend with the organic nature of the local environment. Every room opens to exterior patios that maximize the surrounding views and allow fresh air to circulate the interiors.

The design brief was straightforward — a house where the family can relax and feel the fresh breeze, a place for serenity and family gatherings.
