Last 2013 and 2014 Chronic Plastics Inc. transported 103 shipping containers which all weigh 2,400 tons from Vancouver to Manila. The Bureau of Customs, although declared to contain recyclable plastic, found instead "household garbage, plastic bottles and bags, newspapers and adult diapers".
In those years Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino III was still the president of the Philippines which unfortunately the government that time did not take action to this issue. In 2016 that is Duterte's term that issue was found and investigated by the authorities. Later they found out that it was mislabeled by Chronic Plastics Inc. So in my opinion, everyone involved in this issue has there own mistake like the company that sent this trash-filled containers here in the Philippines their mistake was mislabeling it and sent it here in our country which it shouldn't be here second, is the government under Benigno Simeon Cojuangco Aquino III's term they did not made any action to this issue because it comes out of the investigation that the containers were transported from Canada to the Philippines last 2013. Lastly, in Duterte's administration, it was supposed to be great because they found this issue and we all thought that the issue will be fixed properly but turns out horrible because our president threatened Canada that he will declare a war if the Canadian government does not negotiate with the issue and dump the trash in front of its embassy in Manila, or personally sail with the waste and leave it in Canadian waters. That is wrong in all perspectives, of course, our president should not threaten the Canadian government like that since they did not send the containers in purpose it was a mislabeled mistake. Our president should just have negotiated properly and fixed this issue calmly because Canada always offers help to the Philippines whenever there are disasters or any tragedy happens. Weeks later after this issue, the Canadian government finally negotiated with our government and apologizes for their mistake, they will start to gather all the containers back to their country.

The forest ranger was hacked to death on September 5, 2019, at Palawan. The ranger was attacked by illegal loggers on his way back in their headquarters after he confiscates the chainsaw used by the illegal loggers. The lacked of government support can be blamed for this incident.
According to Keith Fabro of Rappler, Palawan has almost 700,000 hectares of Land, that need to be patrolled. Here’s my point, the Forest Rangers of the DENR should have larger support in our government, which advocacy of Kalikasan, An environmental group in Palawan. well, I am not sure if the LGUs of Palawan support them, but I think they do support them because the forest or nature is one of the reasons why they have many tourists all year. Based on the report, 5 rangers responded on the tip of illegal logging and that 5 was blocked during their way back to headquarters by the illegal loggers and for some reason, only Flores was cornered and hacked to death, were at his fellow rangers? Based on the report it was not stated where the other forest rangers. Even though the forest ranger had a service firearm it is not enough to stop the perpetrator.
The government should establish a group lent from the AFP or the PNP to protect the wildlife of Palawan. Why PNP or AFP because they trained for years for combat, they now tactical strategies on how to confront criminals. We can say that the government can not be lent some PNP officers because we still have crime in the Philippines, that is true but how about the AFP, specifically the Philippine Army, they are currently 101,105 on active duty while there is 120,000 ready reserve. The Philippine army is always prepared for any attack that will happen in the Philippines, okay, but we are not at war anymore, the Marawi crisis is over. They can lend some troops for the rangers or to protect the biodiversity of Palawan.
Another plan would be building an academy sponsored by the government, to serve as forest rangers not just for Palawan but in all around the country, having the same salary and benefits of PNP or AFP. With this kind of solution, we can assure that people that join as a ranger truly love their job and will protect the forest or the biodiversity of it with or there. Maybe the funding is not the problem, illegal logging was an issue in the Philippines but why we still hearing this today? Maybe the real problem is the implementation of the law, maybe the government is not assertive enough in implementing the law.
Another scenario is just plain old corruption because, if the Government is implementing the law, if we have Forest Ranger willing to die to protect the biodiversity of Palawan then why illegal logging and poaching in Palawan never stop? Its like evil, evil will never there unless someone welcomes it. The illegal activities have not stop because someone is having a big payday, who? I do not know but that does not mean it is not happening.
If our government supported the Forest rangers, truly implement the law and investigate corruption related to illegal logging, then maybe we can fully eradicate the problem. But for now, we are asking for the protection of Forest Rangers that outnumber to protect our forests.

It is not a good sign for our economy to lose 8 billion daily to air pollution from fossil fuels. According to a study, in the Philippines, air pollution from fossil fuels, primarily coal, oil, and gas, is attributed to causing an estimated 27,000 premature deaths per year. It is not good for all of us. A new report tracked the global economic cost of the health impact of air pollution from fossil fuels, which totalled around $2.9 trillion or approximately 3.3% of global GDP in 2018 due to work absences, years of life lost, and premature deaths.
Fossil fuels provide a ridiculous amount of energy. They also poison and destroy the planet's protective layers, that will kill a lot of animals sooner rather than later, possibly humans. Also fossil fuels are a finite resource, meaning that once they're gone, they're gone and we're left without their benefits to deal with their effects. We can make it less by saving energy, by turning off the television and make sure you flick the light switch when you leave the room. Not only will you save money on your electricity bill, you will be reducing emissions from coal-fired electricity plants. You can also do carpooling, using public transport, biking, or walking wherever possible so it can reduce the smokes from the car, you can also follow the gasoline refuelling instructions for efficient recovery of the v***r, be careful not to spill the fuel and always tighten your gas cap. If you have are of course, you must consider buying labelled portable petrol containers. It will cause much negative effect if our countries lose 8 billion daily from fossil fuel. First is the effect of capital outflows on the exchange rate If there is a large net outflow of assets, then we will expect to see a decline in the exchange rate. Inflation would tend to cause the effect of depreciation in our income. It will make the imports more expensive, causing imported goods to rise in price. They say trade terms are falling – customers will buy fewer imported goods / compared to exports. If will also cause more difficulty to finance government borrowing from overseas investors. The exchange rate of our country will fail.
Just as the business that does not cost the resources it uses, there can be only one result from abandoning or paying lip service to the principles of true sustainability as evidenced by the ability of nature to sustain life for many millions of years. This must not be ignored. The government must do something about it.

About us
The Earth today is facing a lot of environmental problems, we as part of the people who live in this world, we humans as the dominant species should be part of the solution facing our environmental concerns today, because we very well know that we are part of the problem as well. We in “Ano Naman?” (@AnoNamanKalikasan) We are advocating to have a Pro-Environment Government that deals with the topics, like topics like Pollution, Mining and deforestation that affect the earth’s environment. The name “Ano naman?” is inspired about how many years we are careless about our collective action that have an effect in our environment. The statement “Ano naman?” commonly uttered when you are educating someone about a topic that have not direct effect on one person but in the future can affect hundreds of people, example laws or action by a single person. Our group we also aim to answer the question of “ Ano naman”, in every topic we will be discussing, which is the possible effect of the news we are reacting, laws we are analyzing and action that we are criticizing.
The role of the government in protecting the government should be a must in today’s times, while it is becoming evident that environmental problems such as climate change and global warming constitute existential threats to us humans, these problems will persist and even intensify unless governments enact effective and potentially costly environmental policies. And having a Pro-Environment Government that deals with the topics us in Ano Naman addresses could benefit us humans in the long term if acted out as soon as possible.
Our group page again advocating for a pro-environment government and we are planning to do so by raising awareness about the effects of Mining, deforestation, pollution and decline of agriculture through our social media page “Ano Naman”. We, all the members of “Ano Naman?”, believe that this world we live in is not given to us by our ancestor but rather we are leasing this from the future generation. The preservation and conservation of the environment is not for our welfare but for the welfare of the future generations.
