KEEP THE FIRE BURNING ❤️‍🔥🔥

Last Sunday, Ptra. Ruth delivered a powerful message about keeping our intimacy alive with the Lord.

👐 God is calling his people back to intimacy, hunger, and holy fire — to become burning believers again.

❗ The greatest danger is being spiritually asleep while looking like you're spiritually active. Often times, believers function without the hunger for Jesus. We must not wait for the next service, for the next church gathering to have an encounter with God. It must be our daily discipline every day.

🔥 God is an All Consuming Fire. He consumes everything in us that is not holy.

⭕Without the presence of God:
- worship becomes performance
- preaching becomes information
- ministry becomes duty
- church becomes routine

1. We must keep our altar BURNING. [Lev 6:8; 12,13]
"The burnt offering shall be on the hearth on the altar all night until the burning, and the fire of the altar shall be kept burning on it."

Our intimacy with the Lord cannot be borrowed nor shared. Our oils need to be refilled every day. We need to have our own oil. We cannot rely on each other's anointing.

2. Remove the ASHES. [Lev 6:11]
"Then he is to take off these clothes and put on others, and carry the ashes outside the camp to a place that is ceremonially clean."

Ashes symbolize:
- old sin
- compromise
- old minset
- past encounters

We must remove the ashes because it SUFFOCATES the FRESH FIRE.
Add wood to the fire every single day. Offer up a sacrifice [of holiness, forgiveness, obedience, and devotion] at the altar — it is the one that sustains the fire.

God is calling us to become hungry believers again. A sign of death [spiritually] is the lack of hunger. Dead things do not hunger. You will not be [spiritually] sleepy if you are constantly hungry.

The more you feed yourself with His Word and His presence, the more you hunger and thirst for an encounter with the Lord every day.

"For in Him we live and move and have our being." - Acts 17:28

Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. - Proverbs 18:21 KJV

Last Sunday, we learned the importance of taming our tongues. As children of God, we must not let complaints fill our hearts so we can avoid murmuring — but instead, fill our hearts with gratitude that we may bring thanksgiving unto the Lord.

😥 The problem with our tongues
1. Complaining and murmuring is what prolonged the wandering of Israelites in the wilderness. What only could have taken 11 days, took 40 years.
2. Our tongue, though a small member, can start a fire. No man can tame the tongue, except the Holy Spirit who subdues our flesh.
3. Whatever abounds in our heart will come out of our mouths.

🤔 What shall we do instead of complaining?
1. Bless and praise Him at all times.
I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth. - Psalm 34:1 KJV
2. Give thanks in all circumstances.
give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. - 1 Thessalonians 5:18
3. Rejoice in the Lord always!
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. - Philippians 4:4-6

💞 A true worshipper is not complainant, but compliant. Every word that comes out of our mouths can either bring death or life in our lives. Use our mouths as a powerful weapon to confess the promises of God, bless Him always, declare His goodness, and give thanks in all circumstances!

But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. - Matthew 12:36

Luke 15:20
So he got up and went to his father. “But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.

In the preaching last Sunday, Pastor Angelo shared the story of The Loving Father of the Prodigal and the Frugal Son, showing the journey of rebellion, recession, repentance, restoration, and resurrection.

1. The son wanted freedom and independence and the father gave it to him. The father to his children.
2. Everything was wasted by the son. Life apart from the father led him to emptiness and to the lowest point of his life. When we disobey God and go to places He has not placed you in, our favor is limited there.
3. Repentance is not just feeling sorry, but a decision to come back to the father after an awakening of the situation the son is in.
4. The father ran to the son before the cut-off ceremony, showing love, acceptance, and forgiveness. The ceremony is to show public shame and rejection, but the father shows no condemnation.
5. The father threw a celebration for the son because he was once dead and alive again. The frugal son, became upset, not knowing that He could also have these things. This teaches us that if we don’t go beyond commitments to God, we receive less of what we could have.

This story teaches us that God is loving and there is no room for condemnation in God’s love, regardless of our past.

1 Corinthians 13:4-5
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Praise God for His Word! See you all next Sunday! ☺️
