Our Story

My husband is a pastry chef and I am a teacher. When we lost our Mavis in 2015, I was devastated! To make the story short, I entered the world of baking because it made me tired and busy. I find comfort and healing with it. It was a perfect distraction from my agony.

MAVISH was named after our two children, Mavis and Trish.

At first, I was just baking for the family, then friends got a taste of it and started asking for more. That’s when I started selling it. The oven I was using back then was very small and was just borrowed from a good friend. The baking tools were bought one at a time.

Though I was a Bread and Pastry NCII Certified, most of my skills are self-learned. Google and YouTube helped a lot but trial and error were my best teacher. My husband also taught me a lot of things I couldn’t find anywhere else but his experience. Good thing!
