SDO Nueva Ecija Clinches 3rd in Group Category-Elementary Level in RSPC 2026; Aliaga, Llanera Teams Advance to Nationals
AURORA— Displaying a masterclass in campus journalism, the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Nueva Ecija secured the 3rd Place in the Group Category-Elementary level during the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC) held here from March 18-20, 2026. The delegation’s stellar performance was punctuated by the Aliaga Bright Minds Academy’s Collaborative Desktop Publishing (Filipino) team, who emerged as Champions, and the school paper of General Ricarte ES in Llanera District. Both groups officially secured their slots for the 2026 National Schools Press Conference (NSPC) to be held in Ormoc City, Leyte, on April 13-17.
The Elementary Level served as a primary source of distinctions for the team, highlighted by several podium finishes. Zhiawahnee EdLi B. Gilhang of Quezon Integrated School earned 2nd Place in Editorial Writing (English), while Princess Joy S. Almazan (Castellano ES) and Zymon Angelo L. Peralta (Cabiao CS) both grabbed 2nd Place trophies in Radio Broadcasting categories. Furthermore, individual excellence was recognized as Al Francis Mangilit of San Vicente ES-Cabiao was named the 3rd Most Outstanding Campus Journalist, and Edmund Guevarra of Cabiao CS was honored as the 5th Most Outstanding School Paper Adviser.
Success continued in the Secondary Level, where Novo Ecijano students proved their versatility across traditional and digital platforms. Raniel F. Duran of Rizal NHS and Thrisian C. Evangelista of Restituto B. Peria NHS both secured impressive 2nd Place finishes in Column Writing and Radio Broadcasting Technical Application, respectively. The division also showed its strength in modern media, with Bartolome Sangalang NHS clinching 3rd Place Overall in Online Publishing (English and Filipino) and Gen. Tinio NHS placing 3rd in TV Script Writing and Broadcasting Technical Application. Sir Warren Allado of Doña Juana Chioco National High School was awarded as one of the ten outstanding campus paper advisers in Region 3.
The broad range of awards, which included multiple placements in News Presenting and Column Writing, reflects a deep bench of talent across the province. These victories serve as a testament to the exceptional skills of Novo Ecijanos and their unwavering commitment to upholding press freedom through campus journalism. As the qualifiers prepare for the national stage in Leyte, the entire SDO Nueva Ecija community celebrates a finish that reaffirms their status as a powerhouse in the regional journalistic landscape.
