In Siargao, I tasted the best matcha I’ve ever had in my life. And in that moment… eureka.

I remember thinking, I want to bring something like this to Laguna. I want people back home to experience matcha like this too.
The inspiration came from a girl I met in Siargao, the owner of Seijaku. She was incredibly kind and generous with her knowledge. She shared techniques, tips on how to build matcha flavors, and even recommended syrups and sweeteners to use if I ever created my own blends. Hindi siya madamot. Just a genuinely kind soul.

She even suggested that hojicha (which I’ve never heard of before) might be a better option for me if I wanted something with less caffeine.

People say there’s a “Siargao curse” where you never want to leave the island. But for me, it was the opposite. I was excited to go home and start building something.

And that’s how Majika Mori was conceptualized. 🌿✨
