What are the realities of my noble profession?
Me: Fam, pwede ko introduce sayo mga wealth protection programs namin? Para prepared tayo should critical illness and other life risks happen.
Them: Meron na kami insurance.
(After diagnosis)
Them: Pahelp naman magraise ng funds para sa pampagamot ko
Does this happen? Unfortunately, yes. And often, too.
If there is a lesson we can learn from these situations, give time to advisors reaching out. Don't vibe with the one you are talking with? Say no and talk with the next advisor until you find THE ONE for you.
As Sun Tzu would have it, "Every battle is won before it is fought."
Life insurance is mainly a preparation tool to cover worst scenarios that happen, some definite (death) and some not (critical illness, disability, accident).
