Several weeks ago, I finally sent the 10% share in the net profit of the coffee sales to our coffee farming partner, Auntie Juliet. As part of the commitment of Kapi de Lin-awa, the coffee is paid as soon as the coffee is delivered or even earlier. Aside from the agreed price that feels fair to the farmers, Kapi de Lin-awa also shares the net profit to the farmer in order to ensure equitable income. To do this requires transparency.

This post is not for patting the back. It is for accountability. When I was starting Kapi de Lin-awa, I made this commitment. Hold us accountable especially when the money gets more. Demand us of this commitment to keep us from drifting from our mission.

"Achi ta pun fukuchan tan kawis." The direct translation is "do not hoard all the branches." It means to share what is good and not keep it all to ourselves. This is the indigenous that Kapi de Lin-awa would like to practice. This is a practical manifestation of indigenization.

Our first order of roasted coffee off to Cabuyao, Laguna! The order is 40 kilos, unfortunately, we were able to send 29 kilos only. Small steps! Thank you Auntie Lenin for supporting this small social enterprise!

This coffee is from Balanggoy family from Benguet.

Small entrepreneurs help each other out! 😁
We have a coffee order that needs to be shipped out today but we don’t have our sealing machine yet. So I asked around and Mountain Kalinga Roasters owned by Sunshine Sacki-Molintas let me seal the coffee bags in her shop!

Thank you Manang Shine! Our coffee is now starting its way to Cabuyao, Laguna!

We received our first coffee supply from our community partner, Auntie Juliet and family! It is a small batch but we are sooooo thrilled! It is Arabica Bourbon from Benguet. Looking forward to bigger batches of coffee in the future!
