Success!
Amid the electric tension filling the Ambassador Hall of the Manila Grand Opera Hotel on March 8, delegates from Leyte Colleges β€” representing the Leyte Times β€” etched their names into history during the awarding ceremony of the 4th National Campus Journalism Convention 2026.
Armed with pens and lenses, the LC delegates stood tall and resolute before 377 participants from 59 colleges and universities across the Philippines, proudly waving their green and gold.
And they more than delivered β€” bringing home honors that made every sleepless night, exhausting deadline, and sacrificed weekend absolutely worth it.
The Leyte Times received the following awards:

On March 4, 2026, the staff and faculty of Leyte Colleges wore purple in celebration of National Women’s Month, embracing the theme β€œWE for Gender Equality and an Inclusive Society.” More than just a theme, it is a bold declaration that achieving equality requires unity. β€œWE” represents collective strengthβ€”breaking barriers, challenging inequality, and building a society where every voice matters and every opportunity is shared.

The Leyte Colleges Library successfully hosted a variety of engaging activities to celebrate the 2025 Library and Information Services Month, themed β€œLACE-UP: Libraries – A Hub for Cultural Exploration and Unity Through Partnership.”

Events took place in both the College Library and the Senior High School Library, featuring a Book Festival, Book Talk Competition, Escape File Puzzle Room, Word Game, and a Book Fest Photobooth. These activities were designed to promote literacy, engagement, and community involvement.

As part of our ongoing modernization efforts, the library provided free coffee and biscuits for three days during Book Week. We extend our gratitude to all who participated and supported this step toward a more inviting and learner-centered library environment.πŸ“š
