POGS Region VIII Goes to Alangalang for the 22nd National Buntis Day Celebration 2026!

In celebration of International Women’s Month, the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (POGS) Region VIII Chapter, together with the PSUOG Region VIII Chapter, successfully conducted the 22nd National Buntis Day Celebration at the Municipal Civic Center in Alangalang, Leyte, in partnership with the Alangalang LGU headed by Mayor Lovell Anne Yu-Castro and the Municipal Health Office led by Dr. Blesilda Aniceto.

A total of 153 pregnant mothers from the municipality participated in the activity, which aimed to educate, empower, and provide essential maternal health services. Through interactive lectures, expectant mothers actively shared and demonstrated their knowledge on prenatal health, pregnancy vaccinations, and proper nutrition.

The event also provided a range of free maternal health services, including prenatal check-ups, ultrasound examinations (120), HPV DNA testing, laboratory tests, and the “Ginang Buntis”. Pregnant mothers also received free multivitamins courtesy of pharma partners, along with raffle prizes.

Through initiatives like the National Buntis Day, POGS Region VIII continues to strengthen its commitment to educating mothers, promoting safe motherhood, and bringing essential healthcare services closer to communities across Eastern Visayas!

POGS Region VIII Chapter – Northern Samar group, spearheaded by the ever active Dr. Bing Novilla Nochete, successfully celebrated the POGS 22nd National Buntis Day at the Northern Samar Provincial Hospital.

Kudos to our dedicated POGS Region 8 members in Northern Samar for their continued efforts in educating and serving pregnant mothers in the community! 👏
