Proclamation No. 194, s. 1999 was issued to officially declare the second week of November every year as "𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗥𝗔𝗗𝗜𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗜𝗖 𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗛𝗡𝗢𝗟𝗢𝗚𝗬 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞."

This year, National Radiologic Technology Week will be observed from 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟯 𝘁𝗼 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟵, under the meaningful theme: "𝗜𝗧'𝗦 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗨𝗦 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗡". This is an annual celebration to recognize the vital role that medical imaging and radiation therapy professionals play in healthcare. Through the use of advanced imaging techniques such as X-ray, MRI, CT Scan, Mammogram, and Ultrasound, these professionals enable healthcare providers to diagnose conditions, plan treatment strategies, and monitor patient progress. They also ensure patient safety by managing the risks associated with radiation exposure, directly contributing to the safety and well-being of patients.

The first observance of National Radiologic Technology Week took place in July 1979 as a way to honor these professionals. However, the celebration was later moved to November to commemorate the discovery of X-rays by Professor Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen on November 8, 1895.

As we observe National Radiologic Technology Week, let us recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of radiologic technologists, radiation therapists, and medical imaging professionals. Their commitment to excellence in medical imaging and radiation therapy plays an essential role in the healthcare system, ensuring both the accuracy of diagnoses and the safety of patients.
