Hearing His Word

But He said, “More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” - Luke 11:28

Text: Luke 11:29-32

29 And while the crowds were thickly gathered together, He began to say, “This is an evil generation. It seeks a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah the prophet.[a] 30 For as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also the Son of Man will be to this generation. 31 The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here. 32 The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. -Luke 11:29-32

Unbelief is caused by direct influence of religious culture of which the same is true to this generation who seek after a sign for proof of religious validity (1 Corinthians 1:22-24) but failed to unleash and understand the preeminence of Jesus Christ preaching- the sole answer of everything in life (John 17:3)

Purpose of this message is to see God's salvation or mankind on 2 points :

I. HEAR Jonas' Preaching. Greater than Jonah is here with us TODAY
II. HEAR Solomon's wisdom (Queen of Sheba) .Greater than Solomon is here with us TODAY

An imperative point that we may focus greater attention to hear the message o salvation through Jesus Christ who at this point in time is here with us TODAY.

Conclusion : The Parable of the Good Ground (Matthew 13:1-9)
1. If hearing is not focused with intense attention, when not from the heart and without life.
a. seed goes to the way side
b.some on stony ground
c.some on the thorns
d.it cannot stand till the end
2. If hearing is focused with utmost attention.
a.seed fell into the good ground
b.brought faith, fruits to 30,60and some 100 folds

Note. "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!”-Matthew 13:9
I urge you therefore to HEAR the message in our midweek meetings, prayer meetings, Sunday service and other fellowship activities. HEAR, READ & MEDITATE God's Word.
