PREVIEW: Moments from TNHS’ Teachers’ Day Celebration

Today at Tanjay National High School, we came together to celebrate and honor the incredible teachers who dedicate their time, energy, and passion to shaping the minds and hearts of our students. Our Teachers’ Day celebration was filled with heartfelt speeches, inspiring performances, and special awards recognizing the outstanding contributions of our educators.

From early mornings to late evenings, our teachers go above and beyond to inspire, guide, and nurture the next generation — and today was all about saying THANK YOU! To every teacher at TNHS, your patience, creativity, and unwavering support make a lasting impact that goes far beyond the classroom.

As the great William Arthur Ward once said, “The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” Here’s to the mentors, the motivators, and the heroes who make learning possible. We are grateful for everything you do and proud to have such an amazing team shaping our future leaders. Happy Teachers’ Day! 🎉🍎📚💙

With all our love,
TNHS - SSLG

Behind every dreamer stands a teacher. 👩🏻‍🏫

Today, we celebrate not just what you teach, but the love, effort, and passion behind every word, every lesson, every smile. Thank you for the countless hours of patience, for the lessons that go beyond books, for believing in us even when we doubt ourselves, and for shaping not only our knowledge but also our character. You ignite curiosity, inspire dreams, and plant seeds of wisdom that grow in us for a lifetime. Truly, if the world were a classroom, teachers would be its greatest light, and if grades could be given for greatness, you would all have nothing less than an A+.

Today and every day, we honor you.

Happy Teacher’s Day to the true architects of the future! 🏅🌟📚💚✨

With all our love,
TNHS - SSLG

📢 classes in all levels are suspended ‼️

mag ampo, ug mag amping ang tanan! 💚🙏🏻✨

To ensure the safety of our learners, teachers, and school personnel, in light with the recent earthquake which has affected our city, I hereby declare the suspension of classes in all levels both in public and private schools, tomorrow, October 1, 2025, until lifted.

This is to provide enough time for our local authorities and concerned agencies to check on the security of all school facilities to avoid possible accidents within the school premises during these unprecedented times.

An official Executive Order will follow for everyone’s guidance. For now, let us all be safe in our homes. Amping kanunay, Tanjayanons.

Today, our school conducted a comprehensive earthquake drill, reinforcing our commitment to safety and preparedness. The entire school community participated actively, practicing the critical 'Drop, Cover, Hold On' protocol to ensure readiness in the event of seismic activity. This exercise underscores our prioritization of student and staff safety, fostering a culture of resilience and emergency preparedness.

‼️

Calling someone “bida-bida” when they’re just being active or enthusiastic often reflects more about the person saying it than the one being labeled. Here’s why it can be problematic:

1. Discourages Initiative
When someone is eager to help, participate, or go the extra mile and gets labeled “bida-bida”, it discourages others from being proactive, especially in school or work settings. People start thinking: “Ay, baka matawag akong bida-bida.” So they hold back, even if they have something valuable to contribute.

2. It’s Often Rooted in Insecurity or Envy
Sometimes, people feel threatened or insecure seeing others shine. Instead of appreciating someone’s drive, they label it negatively to bring them down to their level.

3. It Can Foster a Toxic Culture
A group that mocks or alienates active members develops a culture where mediocrity is normalized and excellence is ridiculed.

4. It Mislabels Confidence or Leadership
What others may see as “bida-bida” might actually be: Confidence, Leadership, Passion, Responsibility. Yet people throw the term like it’s an insult, when in fact those traits are crucial in teams, classrooms, and communities.

Better Perspective:
Instead of saying “bida-bida”, we should be asking: “How can I support or learn from this person’s energy or commitment?” Encouraging others to lead, volunteer, or speak up creates a more empowering environment for everyone.

If someone’s “bida-bida” behavior is genuinely inconsiderate or dominating, there are kinder and more constructive ways to give feedback. But most of the time? People just don’t like seeing someone stand out. Let people shine. Their glow doesn’t dim yours. 😊💕
