‘MR. MADRIAGA HAS OFFERED NO PROOF’
Vice President Sara Duterte released a statement on Monday denying the accusations of detained former military agent Ramil Madriaga against her.
“I do not have a personal relationship with Ramil Madriaga, nor have I ever given him instructions of any kind. I have never visited him in prison, nor have I spoken to him about anything at any time,” she wrote.
Duterte said that Madriaga, who is currently detained for a pending kidnapping case, “appears to be acting out of desperation.”
“He is now disseminating false statements to government authorities as part of a concerted effort to obstruct and undermine my possible candidacy for President,” she added.

Act Teachers party-list Representative Antonio Tinio raised concerns over Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte’s request for travel clearance covering trips to 17 countries from December 2025 to February 2026.
Tinio said lawmakers are expected to meet higher standards of public service, stressing that being physically present in Congress is fundamental.
“Dapat mag-expect ang mamamayan ng mas mataas na standard ng serbisyo mula sa kanilang elected representatives, at ang pinaka-basic ay pumasok sa Kongreso para madala mo ang interes ng iyong constituents,” he said.
He also questioned the timing of Duterte’s request, noting that it coincides with an invitation from the International Cooperation Institute (ICI) for the Davao lawmaker to answer inquiries related to public infrastructure projects in his district.
“Kaduda-duda rin ang timing ng request dahil ito ‘yung panahon na inaanyayahan siya ng ICI na sumagot ng ilang katanungan hinggil sa mga public infrastructure projects sa 1st District ng Davao,” Tinio added.
