This comes following the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs’ (OVPAA) issuance of Office Memorandum No. 39, s. 2026, which officially lifts the implementation of the online learning modality, effective starting tomorrow, July 2.

In light of this shift, academic administrators, faculty members, and students are directed to ensure their readiness for the resumption of regular academic operations.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | TSU to mandate 3-day shift to online classes amid security threat; offices remain open

Tarlac State University (TSU), through Office Memorandum No. 36, s. 2026, has mandated the shifting of all classes across the university to an online modality starting June 25 (Thursday) until June 27 (Saturday).

This comes following security threats looming over the university, such as the bomb threat received on June 23 and a mass shooting warning from a now-deactivated account received by The Work at 2:06 AM, today, June 24.

Amidst this, offices at TSU will remain open for face-to-face transactions, while enrollment operations will continue as scheduled, but students are encouraged to finish their transactions promptly to minimize unnecessary exposure and reduce potential risks.

In an exclusive interview conducted by The Work and the TSU Supreme Student Council (SSC) with the Office of the University President (OUP), Dr. Jasper Jay Mendoza assured the public that all TSU campuses are now secured.

In line with strengthening safety protocols, the university also stated that it is actively coordinating with several officials on handling the issue. OUP stated that they are closely monitoring the case and are taking utmost urgency to resolve the matter.

Further notices and statements regarding the situation are expected to be released soon on TSU’s official page.
