Extreme heat is more than just uncomfortable—it can be life-threatening. In 2024, the Department of Health (DOH) reported 77 cases of heat-related illnesses, including six fatalities, as the heat index soared to dangerous levels. When temperatures exceed 42°C, the risk of heat exhaustion, heat cramps, and heat stroke increases dramatically. Globally, climate change has extended extreme heat periods by an average of six weeks, making heat-related emergencies a growing concern. As temperatures rise, it is crucial to understand the risks associated with heat-related emergencies which can occur when the body becomes overheated

Stay safe—hydrate, limit sun exposure, and check on vulnerable individuals. When the heat rises, so do the risks! ☀️💧
