Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) is one of the infections that have affected the world since it was first identified in 1984. If HIV is not treated, it can lead to AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome). Approximately 38 million people are living with HIV/AIDS globally. According to National Health Survey, Pakistan has an estimated 200,000 HIV-positive patients. Unsafe injections, and unsafe sexual contacts are primary cause of HIV infection, leading to aids which has claimed many lives. On this World AIDS Day, let’s aim to increase awareness among masses to have responsible behaviours both as community and as health care providers.
