According to a first information report filed at Gabol Town police station — dated December 13 and available with Dawn — the complainant stated that she was working as a cleaner at a private residence when she got into an argument with the suspect on December 10.
“On December 11, when I finished working at a house, the suspect came and started beating me as I was descending some stairs,” she alleged. “He pushed me down the stairs while verbally abusing me.”

“The provincial minister directed the police to conduct an immediate and transparent inquiry into the condemnable incident,” the statement read
“In the video, the accused is clearly subjecting the woman to the worst torture,” Sher Ali was quoted as saying. “Whatever the motives of the incident, physical violence against the woman will not be tolerated under any circumstances and the suspect should be arrested immediately and severely punished.”

Pakistan hockey team manager Anjum Saeed was allegedly removed from a flight while returning to the country after being accused of smoking on board, according to reports.
Geo News reported that the national hockey team was returning home from Argentina when their flight made a stopover at another airport for transit. During the stopover in Brazil, Anjum Saeed allegedly smoked after the aircraft had stopped.
According to Geo, the airline crew reported the incident to security officials. Following the complaint, security personnel offloaded Anjum Saeed from the aircraft due to strict enforcement of smoking regulations.
Reporters added that despite repeated requests from the entire squad, security officials did not reconsider their decision. As a result, the manager and one player were offloaded, while the rest of the team continued their journey back to Pakistan.
The national squad returned to Pakistan two days earlier, while Anjum Saeed and the player arrived back in the country late last night.
Security sources further claimed that Anjum Saeed was taken into custody and fined. It was also stated that influence was used, after which the matter was resolved with a fine.
Responding to the reports, Anjum Saeed denied that any such incident took place.
He said that no smoking incident occurred and clarified that he stayed back in Dubai along with one player due to work-related reasons.

A case has been registered against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, an ally of the Indian ruling party BJP, in Patna, for allegedly removing the veil of a Muslim woman doctor during an event.
According to Indian media reports, the case was filed by Samia Rana, a leader of the Samajwadi Party, in Lucknow. The incident has sparked controversy, leading to legal action against the chief minister.
Earlier, responding to a video circulating on social media Kumar pulling down Nusrat Parveen’s hijab during a government function, Aakar Patel, Chair of Board at Amnesty International India, said: “This act was an assault on this woman’s dignity, autonomy, and identity”.
“When a public official forcibly pulls down a woman’s hijab, it sends a message to the general public that this behavior is acceptable. No one has the right to police a woman’s faith or clothing,” he said.
“Such actions deepen fear, normalize discrimination, and erode the very foundations of equality and freedom of religion. This violation demands unequivocal condemnation and accountability. Urgent steps must be taken to ensure that no woman is subjected to such degrading treatment.”
The viral footage showed Bihar Nitish gesturing towards Nusrat Parveen’s headscarf before abruptly pulling it down. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, who was standing behind him, appears to intervene and restrain the chief minister, while Health Minister Mangal Pandey and the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary, Deepak Kumar, are seen laughing.
