CSSP’s Social Cohesion thematic area continues to strengthen community resilience and inclusion. Under this initiative, CSSP successfully organized a three-day training for staff of Minority Facilitation Desks (MFDs) and volunteers from religious instituitions on security and safety measures, held at Police Headquarters Hyderabad, under the project Shared Futures: Socio-Economic Cooperation for a Better Future (District Hyderabad).

A total of 132 participants attended, including MFD staff, police officers, focal persons from religious institutions, and members of peace committees, with key participants included Mr. Daniel Fayaz, Advocate Ramesh Kumar, Trainer Mr. Munawar David, (Inspector DIG-Hyderabad Range), Mr. Imtiaz Boota, Mr. Jawaid Emanuel, Mr. Bilal Nagar, Mr. Saif Ali, Ms. Shazia Araein (In-charge, Darul Aman), Dr. Irum Shah, Ms. Gufrana Araein, Ms. Ishrat Mughal, and Mr. Bahram Khan Panhwar (DSP Headquarters), along with CSSP representatives Ms. Irum Maria Rajper, Mr. Dileep Kumar, and Mr. Wahid Sangrasi.

The training covered the role of MFDs and peace committees, community–police coordination, and service delivery challenges, along with safety sessions on risk identification, protection of religious sites, and community vigilance, complemented by practical training on security equipment and entry/exit management. It also included emergency response and first aid, led by Dr. Fatima Mumtaz (PIMS Hospital), focusing on emergency handling, injury management, and coordination with rescue services.

The concluding session was attended by Mr. Sebastian Justin from Kerk in Actie (KIA), Mr. Zain Baloch (SP Headquarters Hyderabad), and Ms. Paras Bakhrani (SDPO Cantt), followed by certificate distribution. Overall, the training contributed to strengthened coordination between community stakeholders and law enforcement, enhanced participants’ capacity to respond to safety and emergency situations, and a renewed commitment to promoting protection and inclusive policing across Hyderabad District.
