In the world of Artificial Intelligence, bigger isn't always better. For vocational training, we need models that are efficient, fast, and experts in specific trades—not just general knowledge.

We are pleased to announce the researchers from 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐕𝐈𝐒 𝐋𝐚𝐛 who are building these specialized engines for the 𝐁𝐚-𝐈𝐤𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐲𝐚𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭.

While everyone talks about Massive LLMs, Ms. Adeela and Mr. Nabeel will explain why Small Language Models (SLMs) are the game-changer for this project. They will demonstrate how they are fine-tuning these models to answer complex technical queries—from automotive repair to electrician guides—with high accuracy and low computing costs.

Professor Leo van Waveren is a renowned expert in Competence Measurement and Technical Pedagogy. His recent work explores the "Cartography of AI in Education"—moving beyond the hype to practical applications of Generative AI in vocational training.

He will be sharing insights on how Germany’s "Dual System" is evolving with Industry 4.0 and how Pakistan can leapfrog by integrating AI-driven personalized learning and Bilingual Language Models into its TVET sector.
