Case Study : Mira Eis Model 2013 for DTC code P0420

Attached photo is a graphical capture of live data stream of both upstream and downstream O2 sensors, of vehicle in which the DTC code P0420 is triggered.

It is clearly visible that both sensors are mimicking each other which means that both are detecting the same amount of oxygen level on both sides of catalytic converter.

looking up the subjected Data stream is a authentic way to figure out whether the Catalytic converter detorates or simply there is No Catalytic at all scenario. No wonder that this vehicle needs a new catalytic converter but to rule out any subsequent Exhaust leak possibility or any Lean condition near downstream O2 sensor, it is always a good idea to check the both sensors reading and compare them accordingly.

Most of the vehicle lose the Catalytic converter just because the lack of timely regular maintenance of the vehicle, since catalytic converter is a costly part, therefore it is always a good idea to clean it after every 10K KM for smooth operation of any vehicle having catalytic converter installed.
