◆ The education system is largely teacher-centered, where teachers often hold an authoritative role.
◆ Teachers prepare others for successful careers, yet many struggle in their own lives.
◆ Education is presented as a mission, but in practice it often works like a business.
◆ Teachers focus more on attendance, marks, and exams than on real understanding.
◆ Students are often treated as numbers instead of individuals.
◆ The system teaches students what to think, not how to think.
◆ Creativity and questioning are often ignored in classrooms.
◆ Exams mainly test memory, not true knowledge or practical skills.
◆ Competition is encouraged more than teamwork and cooperation.
◆ Only a few students are labeled “successful,” while many are made to feel like failures.
◆ Education prepares students for jobs but not for real-life challenges.
◆ Teachers themselves work under pressure and strict rules, limiting their effectiveness.
◆ The education system labels students as “good” if they remain silent and do not challenge its flaws.
◆ Some teachers demand respect forcefully from students, but respect is something that is earned, not demanded.
◆ Favoritism in co-education systems is often at its peak.
◆ Students are trained to limit their knowledge to exams, quizzes, PPTs, and assignments.
◆ Many students memorize information for grades but forget it soon after exams, which is also influenced by teaching methods and the education system.
◆ Intelligence is often measured only through marks, ignoring creativity, leadership, and emotional understanding.
◆ Fear of failure is stronger in classrooms than the love of learning.
◆ Cheating culture is widespread in the education system and is often driven by exam pressure and a focus on grades; teachers’ guidance and classroom environment can also play an important role in reducing or influencing it.
◆ Students are rarely taught emotional intelligence, communication skills, or financial literacy for real life.
◆ Education often rewards obedience more
than originality and independent thinking.
These reflections are based on my personal experience from school to university level. These are only a few high-level observations; there are countless small ones that I have not included here.
Note:By teachers, I mean the bad ones because they are more in number in our education system, and you will encounter only a limited number of good teachers.
