Two senior administration officials have confirmed to CNN that the White House is arranging for Vice President JD Vance to travel to Pakistan this weekend for talks to end the war with Iran. President Trump is expected to make an urgent announcement at 7:20 PM ET tonight.

​Iran reportedly refused Witkoff and Kushner. According to The Guardian, Iran stated: “If the negotiations are going to have any outcome, JD Vance should join. With Witkoff and Kushner, nothing will come out of it.”

​Iran perceives Vance as more pragmatic and anti-war, which is why they requested to speak with him directly. In diplomacy, when high-ranking personnel get involved, it typically means a "behind-the-scenes" deal is nearly finished and both parties have agreed; their appearance is largely symbolic.

​I will repeat it again: if a US-Iran deal is finalized, Iran will become a US ally.
