Chairman PETC Lahore, Professional Engineering-Technologists Nouman Abid Chuhan called on Secretary General Pakistan B-Tech Honors Engineers Association Reg.No.8033 Hyderabad, Professional Engineering-Technologist Athar Javaid at Lahore on Saturday April 4, 2026, to discuss the enactment of (NTC) Pakistan Bill and implementation of Engineering-Technologists Service Structure in Pakistan.

The National Technology Council NTC www.ntc-hec.org.pk was established for Engineering-Technologists (BTech Hons or BSc Engg-Technology Degree Graduates) because the PEC was not giving the equivalent title and status to Engineering-Technologists. The issue was inequity.
PEC is continuously trying to merge the NTC with them which is a useless attempt because the root cause of inequity and equivalent status & registration titles would not be resolved. The NTC Engineering-Technologists are not "chootay" of PEC Engineers but twin brothers having the same status in inheritance. We condemn the integration. We have equal title and status in rest of the world.
PEC is playing politics and misguides the government and SFIC about the Engineering-Technologists, through its agents in all orgs like the Federal Minister Engr Ahsan Iqbal Sb, Advisors in Ministries of Education, Science and Technology etc., Chairman HEC Engr Dr Niaz, Chairman NTC Lt. Gen. Engr Moazzam Ejaz, and all Departments.
As per PEC ACT, PEC has bound all Departments to recruit/promote only the PEC Engineers on gazetted Engineering and Technical posts (BPS-17 and above) including Armed Forces Officers and Civil Services Officers etc. There are no such opportunities for NTC Engineering-Technologists in Pakistan. Therefore, we, the Engineering-Technologists are demanding the enactment of NTC ACT and Service Structure of Engineering-Technologists to get equal opportunities in our discipline. But PEC always put hurdles in our path.
We highly condemn this PEC letter, hence, the integration of NTC with the PEC. Kindly give relief to the Engineering-Technologists of Pakistan. We and our families have already suffered a lot due to the sick policies of the PEC.

Please note that B.Tech Hons or BS Technology or BSc Engineering Technology degree graduates are registered by the National Technology Council NTC Government of Pakistan www.ntc-hec.org.pk as "Engineering -Technologist".

Chairman HEC had asked the provinces and territories to create a new BPS-17 Level Cadre of Technologists in their departments for the Engineering-Technologists.
