'BARGAH HUSSAINI'
Rooted in the sacred foundations of the past, this Imambargah rises where an earlier structure once stood, carrying forward its soul, its purpose, and its timeless legacy.
Inspired by the grandeur of Bara Imambargah, Lucknow, the architecture echoes history through arches that embrace, roshandaans that breathe light, verandas that gather hearts, and a courtyard that unites mourners in silence and prayer.
Crafted with traditional techniques and materials, Kankar Lime and Phukka Kali, the building stands as a tribute to enduring craftsmanship and spiritual continuity.
During Muharram, this sacred space becomes a vessel of collective grief and devotion, humbly accommodating over 10,000 mourners, bearing witness to centuries-old rituals and remembrance.

4 VOLUMES

Breaking the stereotypical approach of entrance porch,
leads to the arrangement of 4 separate volumes, each having a contrasting material palette.
The entrance leads to a central spine connecting all the interior spaces.
