How do history, technology, and political economy shape access to water in the Muslim world?

The Centre for Water Informatics and Technology (WIT), in collaboration with the OOxford Centre for Islamic Studiesand the OODID - Oxford Department of International Development is co-organizing a multidisciplinary workshop at the University of Oxford on May 21–22, 2026.

This forum brings together global experts to explore water justice across the Indus, Nile, and Euphrates–Tigris basins. By bridging the gap between historical governance, political economy, and geospatial data, the workshop seeks to identify new pathways for equitable and resilient water systems.
