This striking image exposes the global ocean plastic pollution crisis, one of the biggest threats to marine life and our planet. 🌊 Every year, around 11 million tons of plastic enter the oceans, suffocating coral reefs, killing fish and sea turtles, and contaminating our food chain as microplastics.

Recent data shows the Philippines leads with approximately 356,371 metric tons of plastic waste entering the ocean annually, followed by India (~126,513 tons), Malaysia (~73,098 tons), China (~70,707 tons), and Indonesia (~56,333 tons). Other major contributors include Myanmar, Brazil, Vietnam, Bangladesh, and Thailand — while the rest of the world adds over 156,000 tons combined.

Experts warn that by 2050, our oceans could have more plastic than fish by weight. 🐠 This is a wake-up call for everyone to act: reduce single-use plastics, invest in recycling solutions, and support global campaigns like , , and .

ملی میٹر بارش کا کیا مطلب ہے ؟

اپ نے اکثر سنا ہوگا کہ فلاں جگہ پر اتنے ملی میٹر بارش ہوئی ہے جس سے پچھلے سارے ریکارڈ ٹوٹ گئے ہیں۔ اب اس ملی میٹر سے کیا مراد ہے اور اس سے سادہ ترین لفظوں میں کیسے پتہ چلتا ہے کہ بارش کتنی ہوئی ہے۔

بارش کو ماپنے کے لیے ایک ٹیوب نما سلنڈر رکھا جاتا ہے جس کے اوپر ملی میٹر کے نشانات لگے ہوتے ہیں۔ اس کو رین گیج یا مقیاس المطر کہا جاتا ہے اس سادہ سے آلے کو کسی ایسی مناسب اونچی جگہ پر نصب کر دیا جاتا ہے جہاں پر بارش کے راستے میں درخت یا دیواریں یا کوئی اور رکاوٹ حائل نہ ہو۔ اب جب بارش ہوتی ہے تو پانی اس سلنڈر کے اندر اکٹھا ہوتا رہتا ہے اور جب بارش ختم ہوتی ہے تو اس سلنڈر کے اوپر موجود ملی میٹر کے نشانوں سے پتہ چل جاتا ہے کہ یہ بارش کتنے ملی میٹر ہوئی ہے۔

اب ایک ملی میٹر بارش کا مطلب کیا ہے؟ اس کا سادہ سا مطلب ایک مربع میٹر میں ایک لیٹر پانی برسا ہے۔ اگر کہیں دس ملی میٹر بارش ہوئی ہے تو اس کا مطلب ہے کہ آپ کے صحن یا چھت میں فی مربع میٹر 10 لیٹر پانی برسا ہے۔ جتنے ملی میٹر بارش اتنے لیٹر فی مربع میٹر بارش۔

آج چکوال میں 470 ملی میٹر بارش ہوئی۔ اس کا مطلب ایک مربع میٹر میں 470 لیٹر پانی برسا۔ اگر آپ کے گھر میں ایسا ٹب یا ٹینکی ہے جو ایک ایک میٹر یعنی 3.28 فٹ لمبی اور چوڑی ہے تو اس ٹینکی میں 470 لیٹر پانی برس کر اکٹھا ہوا ہو گا۔

۔ مزید حیرانی کیلئے تصور کریں کہ آپ کا صحن 10 فٹ چوڑا اور دس فٹ لمبا ہے تو 470 ملی میٹر کے حساب سے آپ کے اس صحن میں 4364 لیٹر پانی برسا ہے۔ آگے مجموعی طور پر اندازہ لگا لیں کہ چکوال میں مجموعی طور پر کتنا پانی برسا ہو گا اوراس سےکتنی تباہی ہوئی ہو گی۔

اور ہاں یہ بھی کہ ایک چارپائی جتنی جگہ میں تقریباً 851 لیٹر بارش ہوئی ہو گی۔
