Test Tubes Additives & Labs Test:
1. *Purple tube*: 🟣 EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) - used for hematology tests, such as CBC.
2. *Yellow tube*: 🟡 SPS (sodium polyanethol sulfonate) or ACD (acid-citrate-dextrose) - used for blood cultures or special chemistry tests.
3. *Blue tube*: 🔵 Sodium citrate - used for coagulation studies, such as PT and aPTT.
4. *Black tube (ESR)*: ⚫ Sodium citrate - used for erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) tests.
5. *Grey tube*: 🩶 Sodium fluoride and potassium oxalate - used for glucose testing.
6. *Dark green tube*: 🟢 Heparin - used for plasma determinations in chemistry tests.
