🥀 The good deeds performed to impress people will bring no benefit in the Hereafter. Only the deeds done sincerely for the sake of Allah will earn His reward. 🥀
Preparing for the Hereafter
The Qur'an and the Sunnah repeatedly remind us that this worldly life is temporary, while the Hereafter is eternal. Therefore, we should invest our wealth, time, and efforts in seeking the pleasure of Allah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that spending even one morning or one evening in the cause of Allah is better than this world and everything it contains.
The Grave and the Hereafter
Islam teaches that after death, every person enters the life of the grave, where they will experience either comfort or punishment according to their deeds. Authentic hadiths describe the grave as either a garden from the gardens of Paradise or a pit from the pits of Hell, depending on one's faith and actions.
The Reality of Wealth
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:
"A person says, 'My wealth, my wealth,' but in reality, only three things truly belong to him: what he has eaten and consumed, what he has worn until it wore out, and what he has given in charity for the sake of Allah. Everything else will be left behind for others."
Spending in the Cause of Allah
Spending in the way of Allah means giving sincerely to seek His pleasure—not to gain praise or admiration from people. Sincere charity is a means of success in the Hereafter, and Allah has promised immense rewards for those who spend in His cause.
Our parents, spouse, children, and relatives have the greatest right to our support. The Prophet ﷺ taught that spending on relatives earns a double reward: the reward of charity and the reward for maintaining family ties. Providing for one's family is not only an act of worship but also a responsibility.
We should never neglect our parents, spouse, children, relatives, or neighbors while helping others simply because of personal disagreements. Sadly, many people give preference to friends or strangers while ignoring their own relatives due to strained relationships.
True Silat al-Rahim (maintaining family ties) is not merely returning kindness with kindness. Rather, it means continuing to uphold family relationships even when others fall short, responding to hurt with goodness, forgiving, overlooking faults, and treating relatives and neighbors with compassion and respect.
Performing righteous deeds only to be seen and praised by people is called Riyā' (showing off). Such deeds have no reward with Allah because they lack sincerity.
Let us use our wealth, time, and abilities wisely, seeking only the pleasure of Allah, so that we may attain success in both this world and the Hereafter.
May Allah enable us to perform every good deed with sincerity, accept our charity and worship, strengthen our family ties, and grant us success in this life and the Hereafter. Āmīn.May Allah accept your efforts and make them beneficial for everyone who reads them. Ameen.

*أَعـوذُ بِاللهِ مِنَ الشَّيْـطانِ الرَّجيـم*
I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.

*Translation:*
Do not move your tongue with it to hasten with it.
*Verse 17*
*اِنَّ عَلَیۡنَا جَمۡعَہٗ وَ قُرۡاٰنَہٗ ﴿ؕ۱۷﴾*
*Translation:*
Indeed, upon Us is its collection and its recitation.
*Verse 18*
*فَاِذَا قَرَاۡنٰہُ فَاتَّبِعۡ قُرۡاٰنَہٗ ﴿ۚ۱۸﴾*
*Translation:*
So when We have recited it, then follow its recitation.
*Verse 19*
*ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَیۡنَا بَیَانَہٗ ﴿ؕ۱۹﴾*
*Translation:*
Then indeed, upon Us is its clarification.
*Interpretation:*
*(Verses 16 to 19)* ➊ *لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهٖ لِسَانَكَ …:* Ibn Abbas RA said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to experience great hardship when the Qur’an was being revealed. The reason was that you ﷺ would move your lips along with it, so Allah Almighty revealed this verse: *« لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهٖ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهٖ (16) اِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهٗ وَ قُرْاٰنَهٗ »* “Do not move your tongue with it to hasten with it. Indeed, its collection and its recitation are upon Us.” Ibn Abbas RA said, this means that its collection in your chest and your recitation of it are upon Us. *“فَاِذَا قَرَاْنٰهُ فَاتَّبِعْ قُرْاٰنَهٗ”* — So when We recite it, then listen attentively and remain silent. *“ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهٗ”* — Then it is upon Us that you will recite it. After that, when Jibril AS would come to you, you would listen attentively, and when he left, the Prophet ﷺ would recite it just as Jibril AS had recited it. [Bukhari, Bad’ al-Wahy, Chapter: How the Revelation began: 5]
The primary meaning of *“جَمْعَهٗ وَ قُرْاٰنَهٗ”* is the one Ibn Abbas RA explained, but because the wording is general, all forms of collecting and reciting the Qur’an are included in it, and Allah Almighty Himself has taken responsibility for its collection and propagation. Thus, the collection and writing of the Qur’an by the Caliphs, memorization by the huffaz, and the collection and propagation of the Qur’an through radio, television, press, and computer are also included in this.
➋ From *“ثُمَّ اِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهٗ”* it is known that Allah Almighty Himself has also taken responsibility for explaining the Qur’an, and He gave this explanation through the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, which is preserved with us in the form of Hadith and Sunnah. For example, Allah Almighty commanded in the Qur’an to establish prayer, then He explained it through the action and saying of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — what the times of the prayers are, how many prayers there are, their rak‘ahs, the order of standing, bowing, prostration, etc., and the words to be recited in them. In short, all of this is the explanation of the Qur’an given through the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Allah Almighty said: *«وَ اَنْزَلْنَاۤ اِلَيْكَ الذِّكْرَ لِتُبَيِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ اِلَيْهِمْ وَ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَفَكَّرُوْنَ »* [An-Nahl: 44] “And We have sent down to you the Reminder [O Messenger!] so that you may explain to the people what has been sent down to them, and so that they may reflect.” It is known that Hadith is the explanation of the Qur’an itself, therefore acting upon it is obligatory just as acting upon the Qur’an is obligatory.
➌ *“فَاِذَا قَرَاْنٰهُ”* (When We recite it) means: when Jibril AS is reciting it, because his recitation is by the command of Allah Almighty, therefore Allah Almighty attributed it to Himself.
➍ At the beginning of the Surah there is mention of those who deny the Resurrection and the Day of Judgment, and at the end of the Surah there is the same mention. In between are these verses, which apparently have no link with what is before or after them. Therefore, some Shia commentators have even written that some verses have been left out of this Surah, but this is wrong, because its refutation is present in these verses themselves — that the collection of the Qur’an is upon Allah, so how can verses be left out of it? And it is also proven with authentic chains that the arrangement of the verses of the Noble Qur’an was told by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself, as Uthman bin Affan RA said that several Surahs would be being revealed to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ at one time, and when anything was revealed, he would call a scribe of revelation and say: Write these verses in the Surah in which such and such matter is mentioned, and when a verse was revealed to him, he would say: Write it in the Surah in which such and such matter is mentioned. [Tirmidhi, Tafsir, Chapter: Surah At-Tawbah: 3086] This Hadith is also present in Abu Dawud, Nasa’i, Musnad Ahmad, Mustadrak Hakim, and Sahih Ibn Hibban. Although some commentators have tried to link these verses with what is before and after them, after the Tafsir of Ibn Abbas RA, which Imam Bukhari RH has narrated with the best chains, taking the trouble of creating an artificial link is sheer affectation. The correct view is that at the time of the revelation of this Surah, and at the time of the revelation of verse (114) of Surah Ta-Ha: *« وَ لَا تَعْجَلْ بِالْقُرْاٰنِ مِنْ قَبْلِ اَنْ يُّقْضٰۤى اِلَيْكَ وَحْيُهٗ »*, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had the occasion to recite along with Jibril AS, and at that time this command of prohibition was revealed and written in the Qur’an at this place.
Understand its example like this: if a teacher is teaching a student something and in the middle, to correct one of his actions, says “Do not do this” and then continues the previous speech, then that statement will also be recorded in the tape recorder and will be copied word for word in writing in the same way. Trying to establish a contextual link of this intervening statement with what is before and after would be affectation, but we cannot call that statement out of place. Certainly, at that moment this statement was necessary, and this too is a form of connection — that these words came in between due to the demand of the occasion.
