Even a Nobel laureate looks back to his roots. 🇵🇱

Dr. Victor Ambros, co-recipient of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Medicine, recently visited Warsaw for a deeply personal reason: he is officially seeking to confirm his Polish citizenship.

Why? It is a beautiful tribute to survival. His father, Longin, was born in pre-war Poland and survived forced labor in N**i Germany during WWII before building a new life in the U.S. in 1946.

For Dr. Ambros, reclaiming his citizenship is a way to honor his family and "all those who fought and survived so that I could exist today".

At Lexmotion, we see this powerful motivation every day. A Polish passport is rarely just a travel document: it is a bridge across generations and a tangible connection to the incredible resilience of our ancestors. We consider it a privilege to guide families through the legal and archival steps to reclaim their heritage.

Every family has a unique journey of survival and hope. Do you know the story of how your ancestors left Poland?

🌍🚢⚖️ Last weekend our dedicated team at Lexmotion had the incredible opportunity to immerse ourselves in the rich history of immigration at the famous Museum of Emigration in Gdynia, Poland and the Museum of II World War in Gdansk, Poland. Both museums play an important role in commemorating the millions of people who left their homeland in search of new opportunities. Today in our day-to-day work, we are privileged to represent children or grandchildren of many of those people.

In our field of Polish citizenship procedure, we feel it's essential to truly understand the personal and historical contexts of the people we serve. So, standing in the very port where so many journeys to the New World began was an evocative reminder of the lengths our clients' ancestors went to in search of a better life.

Did you know that only between the late 19th and early 20th century, nearly 2.2 million Poles emigrated to the United States? Not to mention the movement between the great wars and during the socialist times. This mass migration, often in response to political unrest and economic difficulties in their homeland, shaped not only the lives of these courageous individuals but also the fabric of the United States, contributing significantly to its multicultural identity.

The story of Polish immigration is a testament to the resilience and determination of a people who, against all odds, sought to build a brighter future. Today, we remember and honor these journeys, and the impact they had on shaping the world we live in.

Do you know anyone whose family embarked on one of those many ships from Poland to the U.S? We'd love to hear your story!
