Our research into the painting of "Portrait of a Young Man" by Raphael continues and we are searching for any information (ideally a photo) of a VERSO. Any leads or comments are welcome and appreciated. Linked research papers explain our reasoning, enjoy the read.

Nasze badania nad obrazem „Portret młodzieńca” Rafaela trwają i obecnie poszukujemy jakichkolwiek informacji (najlepiej zdjęcia) na temat jego rewersu (VERSO). Ladies and Gentlemen,

We are pleased to inform about a recovery of a painting by Carl Hasenpflug (1802-1858). The author of this work is one of the most outstanding German architectural painters of his time, his works can be admired in the most famous museums both in Europe and all over the world. This painting was probably painted between 1842 and 1850 and depicts Walkenried/Harz Abbey.
Other works of Hasenpflug are still on the list of the Department of Restitution of Cultural Property lost works of art during the World War II. This sought after work was in the collection of the Sierakowski family in the Waplewo Palace.

The circumstances surrounding discovery of this painting could certainly make for an interesting movie. For this to happen, it will be necessary to fill the blank pages of history regarding this period of war.

Currently, our team of art historians and members of the Silesian Bridge Foundation are in the process of researching the history of this painting. We are aware of its difficulty, but the fact that we have recovered it, which has remained hidden for the last 80 years, fills us with hope and motivation.

It is a desire of every artist to make his or hers work available to the widest possible audience, which is also our goal. Soon, we hope to be able to present this painting by Carl Hasenpflug along with other works of art, that after many years, will find their place in museums and galleries open to the public.

Discovering blank pages of history is both our passion and our duty. Therefore, we are pleased to inform you that soon we will provide you with unique information about another important and lost work of art, sought after since the end of World War II - Portrait of a Young Man by Rafael Santi.

Z nieukrywanym zadowoleniem mamy zaszczyt poinformować o odnalezieniu obrazu autorstwa Carla Hasenpfluga (1802-1858). Autor tego dzieła uznawany jest za jednego z najwybitniejszych niemieckich malarzy architektonicznych swoich czasów, a jego prace można podziwiać w najbardziej znanych muzeach zarówno w Europie, jak i poza jej granicami. Obraz najprawdopodobniej został namalowany na przestrzeni lat 1842- 1850 i przedstawia Opactwo Walkenried/ Harz.

Dowodem unikalności dzieł tego artysty jest fakt, iż w katalogu strat wojennych, Wydziału Restytucji Dóbr Kultury, znajduje się inny (podobny) obraz autorstwa Carla Hasenpfluga (http://www.dzielautracone.gov.pl/katalog-strat-wojennych/obiekt/?obid=39048). To, do dziś poszukiwane dzieło, znajdowało się w kolekcji rodu Sierakowskich w pałacu w Waplewie.

Okoliczności towarzyszące odnalezienia tego obrazu z całą pewnością mogłyby stanowić ciekawy scenariusz filmowy. Aby tak się stało, konieczne będzie uzupełnienie białych kart historii dotyczącej okresu II Wojny Światowej.

Obecnie wyjaśnieniem właśnie tych okoliczności zajmuje się zespół historyków sztuki oraz członków Fundacji „Śląski Pomost”. Mamy świadomość jak ciężkie jest to zadanie, ale fakt samego odzyskania dzieła, które przez ostatnie 80 lat pozostawało w ukryciu, dodaje nam pozytywnej energii do dalszej pracy.
Pragnieniem każdego artysty jest udostępnienie swej pracy jak najszerszemu gronu odbiorców, co również stanowi i nasz cel.

Mamy nadzieję, że już w niedługim czasie będziemy mogli zaprezentować dzieło Carla Hasenpfluga wraz z innymi dziełami sztuki, które po latach znajdą swoje miejsce w ogólnodostępnych muzeach i galeriach.

Odkrywanie białych kart historii to zarówno nasza pasja jak i obowiązek. Dlatego też z ogromną przyjemnością informujemy Państwa, iż w najbliższym czasie przekażemy unikalne informacje o innym ważnym i utraconym dziele sztuki, poszukiwanym od zakończenia II Wojny Światowej- Młodzieńcu, Rafaela Santi.
